North Canberra

The ACT crew finished 2016 with a bang! Along with our regular stalls, we also tried out some new markets (City Walk Markets) along with some old favourites (Old Bus Depot Markets and the annual Eco Elves Market). Our "Coffee and Chat with the Orangutan Whisperer" event was exactly that. Hosted by Beyond Q Bookshop and Cafe, Canberrans took the opportunity to listen and chat with Leif about his new book, his conservation philosophies and of course, orangutans. The trash and treasure crew were also out and about at second hand markets, finding new homes for donated goods, raising lots of money and spreading the orangutan conservation word. And our first ever Bunnings sausage sizzle was a huge fundraising success.

In the lead up to Christmas, we also set up merchandise stands at two different shops. The amazingly generous people at As Nature Intended Café and The Chifley Grocer have both been selling orangutan merchandise to raise funds for TOP.

After a relaxing break, things kick off again in February with the Multicultural Festival and the Royal Canberra Show.  Check out the Events page for more information on where you can find us!
