Tasmania

In February we held a 2nd hand stall at Kingston and had a great day, selling a lot of donated goods, including plants this time, which are always popular. Thanks to Hazel, Sandy and Griff for the help and company on the day and to all those who regularly donate goods to recycle and raise funds for charity.

In March we had our annual stall at the Love Living Locally Festival at Kingston.  Was a fairly quiet event this time for the orangutan cause even though the event gets bigger every year, with more stalls and people attending.  We still managed to talk to lots of people about orangutans and their plight.

In April we held an information and merchandise stall at Salamanca Markets.  Thanks to the market organisers for allowing us 2 free stalls a year.  Autumn certainly came early, it was pretty cold and windy but it didn’t deter shoppers, with around $800 being raised and included several adoptions.  Thank you to Kimmie and Miss Layla for their help on the day.

Even though we haven’t yet set our date for the annual Quiz Night (our 6th), the incredibly generous Kimberly’s Pet Taxi Services has donated $1,000 to go towards the night……thanks you so much Kimberly for your generosity every year for our Quiz Night.  Better get cracking and set the date!
