Early on a Spring morning in September we headed out to Varsity Lakes to set up for the Pet Expo. Our position was in clear view of everyone arriving via the stairs. When the clock struck 9am the locals started arriving filling the area. Poodles, French Bulldogs, Greyhounds, and Dachshunds soon filled the expo. Owners and their dogs enjoyed coffee and learning valuable pet information.
Pet Expo September – Varsity Lakes
Early on a Spring morning in September we headed out to Varsity Lakes to set up for the Pet Expo. Our position was in clear view of everyone arriving via the stairs. When the clock struck 9am the locals started arriving filling the area. Poodles, French Bulldogs, Greyhounds, and Dachshunds soon filled the expo. Owners and their dogs enjoyed coffee and learning valuable pet information.
We had the opportunity to engage with many locals, sharing stories and experiences, taking adoptions and selling a variety of merchandise. Our neighbours who sold orangutan related products and eco friendly items approached us to share their suppliers information as they thought we could benefit from these products. We forwarded this information to the board for consideration. As the weekend rolled on, the rain clouds rolled in on both days. This caused the crowds to retreat to shelter regularly. Despite the unpredictable weather it was a great weekend to get amongst the community and raise much needed funds and awareness.
On September 20th Marion, Tanya and her 2 daughters Charlotte and Laura set up a very early morning stall at the Eagle Farm Markets in Brisbane. We had a great position and spoke to many customers about ways they could support the orangutans. A little rain shower didn’t dampen customers' spirits who were leisurely enjoying their Sunday outing.
