New South Wales

October has been a really busy month for NSW! We had our first Trivia night, a new stall at Wollongong Uni, a Meeting, & The Cruelty Free Festival!

TRIVIA NIGHT:
Our first Trivia night on October 10th at The Panania RSL, was a huge success with 100 people attending, raising almost $2,000! So many people said how much they enjoyed themselves, & would come again to the next one. The club employees also were so interested in our goals to save the animals & their habitat. Our local paper "The Torch" put in 3 stories in 3 consecutive weeks for us for the first time, to cover the Trivia night advertising & how locals can become volunteers or donate.

MEETING:
On October 17th, we had our last meeting for this year with 10 volunteers sharing ideas for stalls, & our Christmas party date & venue. We will also look into the Pet Fest next year, & we decided to make up our own sign about the Thirty Hills Land purchase for our stall at The Cruelty Free Festival. Thanks again to Jenny for bringing in all the merchandise to the Meeting. We'll be sharing that chore next year.

CRUELTY FREE FESTIVAL:
This year was so much better with more people attending than last year, everyone seems more familiar with the new location near Redfern now. We raised $1,019.60, thanks to Gill, Karen & Maria. Gill was so happy with the enthusiasm from one guy, offering free space in Newtown for our stall, at "Lental As Anything", or a screen show & Talk. Many people wanted to come to our Rainforest night, or volunteer, learn about palm oil, & deeply care about what's happening with the animals & habitat.

NEW STALL WITH NEW VOLUNTEER AT WOLLONGONG UNI:
Darian, our newest & youngest volunteer did a wonderful job at her stall, raising $260 in donations & merchandise. She also wants to do School Talks next year & has another friend who wants to volunteer, so well done Darian!
