Orangutan Sanctuary at Bukit Tigapuluh National Park,Jambi, Sumatra The main objective of the sanctuary is to establish and maintain a sanctuary to monitor Sumatran orangutans not suitable for reintroduction. The project will also aim to recruit and train keepers to monitor the orangutans released into this area and to test, improve and implement a long time monitoring system to ensure the survival of orangutans deemed incapable for reintroduction.
