Why Protect Endangered Species?
A threat to orangutans is really a threat to us all. Their native home in the rainforests of Borneo and Sumatra may seem far away but its preservation is critical in maintaining a fundamental balance of eco-systems that effect the world.

• Carbon emissions from the wholesale destruction of the forest contribute to global warming.
• The remaining forest is threatened with drought or fire as a result of the changing ecosystem and so the danger is exacerbated.

The challenge to save orangutans (who share 97% of our DNA) provides a unique opportunity to promote and communicate critically important conservation and environmental issues.

What Can Your Organisation Do?
Become an Australian Orangutan Project Partner. Your contribution will make a difference. You can choose the level of sponsorship that suits your budget and know that you are supporting important work:

• caring for orphan orangutans through our adoption program
• Rehabilitating and releasing orangutans into safe rainforest areas;
• conserving and restoring areas of high conservation importance;
• protecting the forest from illegal land clearing through our Safeguard program;
• funding research into effective management strategies for orangutans in the wild.

What You Receive in Return
Our sponsors receive a range of benefits plus gifts that can be distributed amongst staff to make them aware of the company’s contribution. As you know, workplace involvement in socially responsible programs like AOP can be a great morale booster for staff especially if they can participate too. We’d be happy to make suggestions on how your staff can raise funds and contribute in their own right.

The good news is that, if you carry your partnership over from year to year, your benefits accumulate! So, for instance, if you choose a Green Level partnership for $1,000 this year and then renew at the same level next year, the worth of your support over the 2 years ($2,000) automatically entitles you to Orange Level.
